Code Of Practice For The Housing of Cage Birds. The Revised Code has only
one change for private aviculture: no all-wire cages for transportation. Copies are available
from the Bureau of Animal Welfare, DSE, PO Box 500, East Melbourne 3002. Bird Sale organising
bodies may still have supplies for distribution. Organisers should also keep up to date
with the Code of Practice for Bird Sales. |

2007 BIRD SALES APPROVED |
Travel &
Birds
From time to time,
aviculturists have the opportunity to obtain birds whilst away from home. This may
be a holiday or a trip to a Bird Sale. The Code of Practice states that birds
must travel in the passenger section of the vehicle, NOT the boot or
luggage compartment.
