global fusion and Try hard!
Vienna 2002

I work in two settings. In my studio, I weld (or sew) modern fetish objects. They look hand made, the surface usually out of wrinkled metal sheet. My goal is that the observer is both amused and irritated, so that questions arise, such as: What is the value of an adored object that doesn't function? What would James Bond say if he were being chased and wanted to use the home made motor bike? Would he laugh or begin to perspire? What is real love? Publicly I organise exhibitions in empty spaces around a neighbourhood market - SOHO in Ottakring. Most people living here are of ethnic origin. A communication network has resulted.

global fusion - a postcard motive showing a typical Austrian native in traditional Dirndl dress looking towards a man, a Papua New Guinea native wearing an Austrian tryolean suit. She is lucky: she can flirt with the man who is now seen as being civilized - all a question of dress.

Try hard!
- a welded relief of a body builder. One can step behind the man to replace his missing head which gives the illusion of a real pure physical strength worshiped in our societies. He is a genuine fake, reminiscent of ATLAS holding the great sky.
