Maggie McCormick's work is a direct reponse to the travel kit sent by Christian Lunig to her. His images of the Reichstag in Berlin sent to her led her to investigate the idea of a new symbol for Berlin. Christo did wrap the Reichstag, and by unwrapping did reveal the new. Maggie wrapped impressions and experiences as an image in a new concept.

New in its perception, the colour red becomes the representative for the perception of the 'new' Berlin. A visit by Maggie to Berlin at the beginning of 1998 set the foundation for this concept.
