Exhibition & Catalogue launch Global People + Family People + Community People + Public People Horti Hall Gallery, 31 Victoria street, Melbourne (opposite Trades Hall) Melbourne is a city known for its culture, intellect, innovation and diversity. Melbourne Vox Pops explores the contemporary, urban cultural identity of this cosmopolitan city by bringing together artists, writers, spoken word performers and community members who contribute to this identity. Running throughout 2002 this project took place in Melbourne's public space, as street posters and spoken word events in tram shelters on the City Circle Tram route, performance work in an artist run space, a zine production and on the world wide web. The project culminated with a viewing of all the 2002 street posters at Horti Hall Gallery, Melbourne. Melbourne Vox Pops is supported by the City of Melbourne.
