| CAN
I SEE YOUR TICKET, PLEASE?
There is always something different about traveling on public transport.
On the city loop you will understand why. Seeing business people coming
home from work, talking to friends next to them, but there is no eye
contact between them. They both have their briefcases sprawled across
their laps, and their legs; neatly crossed in a posh manner.
What I noticed in particular with this train was the graffiti; blue
and black on the floors and walls, but it looked really dirty, unreadable.
It's an art, just like writing, only messier and expensive to scrub
off.
CAN I SEE YOUR TICKET PLEASE? FARE EVASION IS STEALING!
What a scam! The print is in bright red and black. Enough to draw
our attention, so what is our excuse they ask?
Underneath that sign, you see a man sitting. I wonder if he has seen
it, or if he has a ticket. A well dressed man wearing thick, black
rimmed glasses is sitting on the train, biting his nails, looking
around him, and clutching his backpack in his lap.
The MX publication seems to be a favorite with Werribee passengers,
their noses buried in the pages of interest, George W. Bush is displayed
on the front page of the newspaper. A lady across from me, is rubbing
her hands together, cold or nervous?
Flagstaff
station is dead even though it's a part of the city loop. Can you get
out of the way? I have a train to catch. As he was runs, his overcoat
flaps in the wind.
Outside Melbourne Central, 'Don't drink on the street, 24 hour ban'
slogan. People don't pay attention to what goes on around them. Passengers
are usually half asleep and very eager to get home so what happens to
them usually doesn't matter, unless some advertisement and graffiti
catches their eye. |
