Club HistoryUnley
High Old Scholars Cricket Club was formed in
1975 with the aim of providing a cricket adjunct to the Unley High Old
Scholars Football Club, which had formed several years earlier. The
club was initially founded by old scholars and teachers from Unley High
and started its first season with one team in grade A9.
In
its second season the club won the A9 premiership and commenced its
rise up the grades. In 1992/93 the club won the A2 premiership
and moved into the top grade of Adelaide Turf in the 93/94 season. From
fielding one side in 1975 the club has grown over the years to field up
to 6 senior and 5 Junior sides, winning 11 senior premierships. In
1980 the club changed its name to the Unley Cricket Club with the
purpose of further broadening the appeal of the club to a wider range
of potential players and supporters. Through
the support of numerous players and members over the years, the Unley
Cricket Club has now established itself as one of the premier and most
respected clubs in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association. The
club maintains its intention to play cricket to a high professional and
ethical standard. 2011/12
