A Grade Report - Round 8 vs Port Districts

We ventured out to Port Districts for another one-day after the first week was washed out. Dropping out of the side from the previous week was haydos with a severe foot injury and the rockstar Andrew Caire took his place back in the team. Playing our second one-day game in a row took it's toll on Tom splinter Rodan and Zac Scrotum Treloar, who couldn't remember the time we started the previous week and rocked up as we were entering the field. This didn't stop splinter taking the new ball with Wazza and taking control to make up for his tardiness. We were on top of the Port Districts batsman all day and made runs hard to come by, except for Burts where the runs were prominent all day as he regularly disappeared from the field. Splinter took 3/16 from his 10, Wazza a tidy 1/18 of 8 where he was 1/5 from 6 of his opening spell. Old man Dan 2/26 of 10. Zac also taking the splinter Rodan philosophy of making up ground for rocking up late tore through their middle order and took 4/33 of his ten overs. Port Districts making 119 of 45 overs.

Batting was at times difficult with several contentious decisions going against us when batting. We were in early trouble of 3/20 before CT hit 36 and the rockstar Andrew Caire 26. Suddenly after a rough decision for CT we were 5/90. Grassy continuing on from his previous week 50 took us over the line with Zac. Grassy was eventually out for 72. The last four batsmen fell quickly Burts suddenly found runs hard to come by. Zac after hitting four consecutive fours was out of the next ball. Dan and Tommy Roden then followed Burts and also recorded ducks and we finished up all out for 202 with 8 overs to go. Still a comprehensive win and form is starting to build up as finals draw closer.
