We are fortunate in having quite a lot of photographs, letters and other documents from the past. I have my great-grandfather's last letter, written a few days before he died. It is not of enormous historical importance but I reproduce it here because of its poignancy and the picture it conveys from 130 years ago. It is addressed to his son Thomas Morley, my father' uncle.
It is torn, and faded, so I have processed it as much as possible to restore its clarity. It is presented in three consecutive pages.
