exhibition
The exhibition celebrates and commemorates Australia's Centenary of Federation by highlighting the contribution of women to the nation - their energy, commitment, intelligence, spirit & sense of community. Nothing on a Plate launched on Saturday August 4, at the NIBS Gallery, Trades Hall, Carlton, by Pamela Curr (FairWear Campaign).
The exhibition has been curated by Morag Loh. There are five themes dealing with women's campaigns from the time of federation:
The exhibition can be borrowed free of charge by schools, libraries and other groups. It comes in 2 easily portable boxes containing 21 mounted images, text boards and captions, a reproducible 8 page catalogue essay and set of questions for discussion.
The Nothing
on a Plate catalogue can be purchased separately for $2.00 (plus $1.00 post
and packing).
