                 U3A Announcement from the Webmaster

U3A Werribee is an autonomous group being part of a worldwide University of the Third Age movement based                           on the concept founded in France in 1972.

We are very proud indeed here in Werribee to be part of the group, which was founded by our own Walter Eacott in 1986 as a spin off from the Retired Persons of Werribee. He has since been the webmaster with full authority and integrity in terms of the U3A website's content. Walter has always maintained that the editing of the website with the aid of the local Try-Cycle Newsletter, is the full responsibility of the webmaster. Thus U3A Committee have now elected Martha Siwek to take up the webmaster responsibility.

U3A website will at all times provide news and update on future available classes, the aim of which is to keep the mind active, to improve the whole quality of life and create a greater sense of a lively and consolidated community. A programme, which is presented every Term states a range of exciting new and established courses to attend. As well on the website, social news and meetings, stimulating lectures and talks to inspiring exhibitions and displays are also well announced.

We remind those who are not quite aware of this, U3A is a voluntary self-help- organisation for the more senior and now retired folks. Life does not stop when you retire on the contrary there are so many opportunities, so many friendships waiting to be made. Finally, the aim of the website is to inform the abovementioned facilities and to enhance greater coherence and support not only within the U3A Werribee group but also throughout other interested communities. Everybody is welcome.

President's Report - It is announced that the President has been away for a number of weeks touring the smaller of the Antipodes, visiting family and friends, therefore, there will be no President's Report. However, news has been received from our Court Correspondent, that the tour has been a resounding success. This, despite a rather large earthquake that occurred one night quite close to where Serita was lodged, which left members of the party shaken if not a little stirred. Everyone was reported to be in good spirits; Serita has since resumed her duties with Werribee U3A. Welcome back.
