It is likely to recommence later in the year at the same venue. Beginners in French, Italian and Contract Bridge are most welcome.   If you would like to be involved in tutoring a subject that you are familiar with or would like to see added to our programme please let us know on Enrolment Day, Thursday 24 January 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter.

RAMBLING THROUGH HISTORY

It was tentatively suggested that the Term 1 programme be devoted to Anthropology, but this topic was examined in Term 4 of 2006 in a series entitled "Faces of Culture." Accordingly, the selected programme is a series of video documentaries entitled "Civilisation", which traces the development of human skills, philosophies, politics, humanitarianism, etc; a different study, but not unrelated to anthropology, which traces genetic and biological development. "Civilisation" consists of thirteen episodes, narrated by Sir Kenneth Clark, and traverses the period from the Dark Ages to the beginning of the 20th Century.
