Final Concert
November 26th at 10.30 am
Hawthorn Town Hall
There will be a brief sound check from approx 9.15.
Dress- black with coloured scarves for women, ties optional for men.
Parking - arrangements for the concert are still to be finalised. I will inform you as soon as possible; the Local Laws officer concerned is on leave until November 11th, but will be contacting me before our next - and final - rehearsal. There will again be some permits, but as usual an early arrival is important for most of us to try to get places in the main Car Park behind the Hall. All day parking there is $4.60.
PLEASE NOTE the new times for the South side (city-bound) traffic on Burwood Rd no parking before 10am...This is indeed a blow for us, so be careful.
Access - from 8.30; large instruments can be dropped off under the portico from 8.15 where someone will be there to help.
Please remember to leave all your music at the end of the concert, so that we can sort and return it promptly.
U3A Hawthorn End of Year party
Saturday, December 5th

(just west of Camberwell Junction)
Plenty of parking in nearby streets.
A brief musical program will be provided by the Choir and "Trombosis"- a trombone trio, followed by afternoon tea and socialising.
Cost is $10 and must be paid in advance. All are welcome. For those of you who would like to attend, Nola will take your name and your money!
Next Year's Plans
Next year's plans are falling into place. Remember that our first concert for 2010 will be Chris' last, as his retirement follows fast after his 80th birthday. The concert will be held on April 29th, followed by an informal luncheon party for players and some of Chris' close friends in the Chandelier Room, Hawthorn Town Hall.
The program will contain many of Chris' favourites. We will need some help in setting up the lunch and will contact you early in the New Year regarding this.
U3A will cover the cost of the Chandelier Room hire, and the liquid refreshments.
Our cost will be $15 each, with perhaps a small additional contribution for a presentation to Chris - well deserved, I'm sure you will agree, after 10 years and 23 concerts!

Please note the system of rehearsal dates — almost always, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays in the month. (Occasionally there is a 5th). Many people seem to find it hard to remember this, so if you would rather have every alternate week for next year, please discuss it with me or Nola.
