SCRAPBOOKING
Convenor: Yeutha Calcutt
The group has been operating very successfully since its inception a year or so ago and meets regularly on Wednesday mornings
except for the first Wednesday of each month, at 10:00 a.m. at "The Cottage". |
BRIDGE
Convenor: Irene English
The Bridge Group meets every Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with one hour of instruction for beginners. This is followed by semi-supervised
play until 4:00 o'clock - later for the dedicated! It is not necessary to be a card expert in order to participate for we were all
beginners once. |
ITALIAN
Tutor: Ralph Humphries
Beginners' Italian is not currently available but there is an intermediate level which has been going for some time. The aim of the
course is to build a foundation of speaking, listening and grammatical skills to take a student into the advanced level. Thursday 10 - 12. |

An enthusiastic small group meets on Wednesday afternoons to learn and play this fascinating game. Wednesday 1 - 3. |
CRAFT

Throughout the year we enjoy many and varied craft items. Apart from our "inhouse" tutors, we also have professionals
from "outside" who take classes. Tuesday 10 - 12. |
ART FOR PLEASURE
Tutor: Pauline Priestly
Our painting group aims to develop artistic skills with paint, pencil, charcoal and pastel. Occasional
outdoor work and excursions are also part of the activities. Friday 10 - 12. |
TUESDAY AFTERNOOS
This time slot is used for shorter
"sessions" with visiting speakers and
such like.
Term 1: Celtic Studies: looks at the history, religion, art, literature etc. of the Celts |
JEWELLERY MAKING
The first Wednesday of each month in the term is given over to this craft and very popular it is. There is a basic kit of tools which need to be purchased for a small sum. |

We have enjoyed some musical
activity in 2007: an intro into Bluegrass and to Folk music, performed by members who also provided some poetical recitations ...
We are constantly on the lookout for new
leaders, people who can offer sessions of
interest to their fellow members. It may
be a one-off session or an on-going
course in anything at all.
