Henry Lawson birthday anniversary
We have been invited by the Australian Natives Association to come along and enjoy a few hours of stories and poetry presented by the Henry Lawson Memorial Society in honour of the 139th anniversary of the birthday of Henry Lawson. The location is the 15th floor at Australian Unity, 114 Albert Road South Melbourne Friday 16th June at 10:30AM. We need to RSVP to ANA by Tuesday 6th June. Please advise John Vicary-Lovegrove or Marie Dunn ASAP to be included in the numbers.
 
VUT Cityscape Restaurant luncheon
A luncheon has been organised by Pat Ashton for the 2nd June at the Cityscape Restaurant, cost of $18 (to be paid in advance—Marie, Pat or Lottie). The restaurant is on level 5, building K on the corner of Ballarat Road and Mills Close.
 
Twenty Six Nicholson Street café lunch.
Pat Ashton is seeking further expressions of interest for Twenty Six Nicholson St café as a location for a group lunch. A menu is posted on her social noticeboard in the kitchen. So far preferences are for a Wednesday and it is proposed that it will be during the June school holidays. The more that come along the merrier.
 
Treading Water
Lunchtime Theatre invites you to escape this winter lunchtime with a visit to ‘Treading Water’ a romantic comedy. Lunch, consisting of a bowl of soup and bread, and the show by Trudy McLauchlan, only $9.95. Lunchtime Theatre is at Horti Hall, 31 Victoria Street Melbourne. It is suggested that we make a booking for Wednesday 21st June ‘06 at 1:10pm. If you are interested there will be a sheet on Pat Ashton’s social activity noticeboard for you to register.
Raffle of Photo printer for Anti Cancer Council appeal
A Hewlett Packard Photosmart 7760 Photo Printer has been donated by Elliette Hoshun to be raffled by Western Region U3A, proceeds to be donated to the Anti Cancer Council. The printer is valued at approximately $299.
The printer has a built-in memory card reader, colour graphic display and can also print photos without a computer. The printer has 6 ink tanks and uses HP's PhotoREt4 Colour Layering Technology. True edge to edge printing with borderless photos in both 4R and A4 size.
 
Anti Cancer Morning Tea
A successful and enjoyable morning tea at Pat Ashton's on Thursday 25th May raised $70.
