As the incoming President, I would like to welcome old and new members to another year of stimulating interests promoted by U3A. I hope 2005 brings mutual enjoyment and satisfaction to those shared activities.

We have already had one outing to Warrnambool, on 22nd January, as witness the illustrated page of those who ventured by coach and train to the Hopkins River for a Saturday afternoon cruise. I would like to add that Pat Ashton organised that a small group meet up with Geelong U3A (organiser) and other U3As to visit Queenscliff on Tuesday, 8th March to view the Maritime Museum, Old Fort, and to be taken along the Heritage Trail. Could I also draw your attention to a visit she has arranged to Mamma Mia musical on Wednesday 13th April at 1pm at a cost of $52.80. This admission price only applies if 20 people attend - so far there are 12 vacancies. Please let Pat know soon so she can send off for the tickets.

So far my report to members has been on a light hearted note, but I cannot let the occasion pass by without letting you know that our Secretary Lyn Roberts has resigned, and we wish her well in her new studies.

Aditionally, we have been saddened by the passing of Ray Cooke, a keen Current Affairs and Philosophy participant.

Would each group please discuss with their Tutor what arrangements need to be made regarding holidays. A list of relevant dates is in each classroom, and above the sign in book in the hallway. PLEASE do not forget Seniors Week from 14th - 18th March. Easter Holidays 24_29 March. School Holidays 4-15th April.
