To promote lifelong learning and social interaction amongst our members in a healthy and active retirement.

To maintain and develop our skills while ensuring an affordable, safe and stress free environment.

To share our knowledge and skills with each other in an equal and voluntary capacity.



Western Region Third Age Learning Inc.

Objectives

  1. To provide opportunities for members of the "Third Age" (i.e.persons 50+ years of age who are retired from, or who are not involved in, full time employment) within the Western Region Melbourne, Victoria, area and its environs for the purpose of facilitating creative and meaningful use of their leisure time.

  2. Establish and conduct programmes of an educational and/or cultural and/or physical nature in which persons of the said "Third Age" may participate with a mutuality of teaching and learning.

  3. Liaise and co-operate with existing organisations within the aforementioned area in the provision of facilities in which to conduct the programmes referred to in Clause (2) above for the enlargement of members' knowledge and intellectual horizons irrespective of their backgrounds, qualifications or financial circumstances.

  4. Establish and conduct an autonomous organisation run on a voluntary and self help basis, using such business practices and administration, whilst charging such fees and making such rules, relative to the programmes made available for members as appear necessary or appropriate from time to time.

  5. Promote the concept and adoption of the "University of the Third Age" as actively and widely as possible particularly in the Western Region Melbourne Victoria area and also in the general community.

  6. Seek and maintain links with organisations and individuals involved with the "University of the Third Age" concept.

  7. Do all those things or anything necessary or expedient to further the concept of the Third Age Learning locally or in the general community.
