Hello! My name is MAVIS MARSHALL, Past President of Footscray U3A, 2001.

Because I found, after settling into my retirement, that my time was now my own to do something for myself instead of for others, I became a member of Footscray U3A during the first year of its existence (1988). In our U3A we can help you learn many interesting subjects, FREE, from our volunteer class leaders who prepare their classes for older beginners, or for older folk who find themselves wanting to get interested in something a little different, or something they always wanted to learn but could never afford, and as a bonus its easier than when you learned at school years ago BECAUSE there are no exams. At present we have about 20 classes available: Ancient History, Book Group, Calligraphy, Computers Beginners, Computers Advanced, Digital Cameras and Web, Contract Bridge, Creative Writing, Cryptic Crosswords, Current Affairs, French, Handcrafts, Italian, Mah Jong, Past to Present, Plato Not Prozac & Scrabble.
