PAGE IN PREPARATION

Intensive training (max 3 in class) in range of typographic issues. Shows the participant how various parts of printing and typography jigsaw fit together.

Explanations and practicals relating to the use of traditional measurements like points, picas, ems: also leading and kerning put into perspective.

Very much a hands-on experience: not just hand typesetting, but also typefounding, Linotype operations, Ludlow operation, spacing and make-up of pages, letterpress printing, camerawork and platemaking for offset and offset printing.
