Terang Urban Fire Brigade has two appliances at its disposal.

Terang Pumper

Pumper Type 2
Used for urban fire supression, the pumper is usually the first appliance to respond to a fire call.

Terang Dixie Tanker 1

Tanker 3.4D
Used for rural fire supression, the tanker is usually the second appliance to respond to a fire call - but this is dependant on the type of fire call received.

The Terang Urban Fire Brigade, like the majority of fire brigades in Victoria, is made up entirely of volunteer fire fighters. Over the years the brigade has conducted many fund raising activities to either enhance the fire station facilities or purchase new equipment. One of the major sources of fund raising revenue over a 20 year period was the now defunct weekly bingo competition. The funds from Bingo enabled the brigade to, amongst other things, renovate the station to:
include a safer locker room, modernise the radio/communications room, and add a kitchenette

In recent times the Brigade made a decision to begin raising funds for a much needed support vehicle. To date in excess of $14,000 has been raised towards this major brigade purchase thanks to the generosity of the local community.
In particular the Brigade would like to especially thank the Terang & District Co-Op - IGA Community Chest program for its valuable donations over the past three years; just over $5000 has been donated to date.
Special note of the outstanding fund raising effort of the local ladies service club, Nexus should also be made. Over a 12 month period the Nexus ladies raised $6,000 towards our support vehicle. The fund raising continues as we are just over half way, the brigade would welcome any donation from the local community and each donation over $2 is tax deductible. Hopefully soon we will have a fully fledged support vehicle!

Terang Urban Fire Brigade proudly supplies and services all types and brands of portable fire safety equipment in the local community.
The brigade currently services just over 40 clients in the district who have in excess of 700 serviced items.
Qualified and accredited brigade personnal carry out servicing to Australian standards or better.

Portable fire equipment serviced includes:

-Fire Hose Reels
-Fire Hydrants
-Layflat Hose

Water type
Foam type
Dry chemical
Carbon Dioxide
Wet chemical

Regular servicing of the above items is essential to ensure that when and if the time comes for them to be used in an emergency, they can fulfil their functions according to the manufacturers intent.
