Captain - John Milroy
Member of the Brigades since 1982 and recently awarded his 20 year service badge at the Brigade dinner in September 2003. John's experience includes major fires in N.E.Victoria, NSW and Ash Wednesday.

John is currently a brigade delegate to the Camperdown Group and VUFBA Region 6 Council.
As Captain, he is charged with overall brigade management and leadership.

Secretary - Craig Kidd
Craig is one of our more recent recruits joining the brigade in 2000, he stepped into the leadership role of Brigade Secretary on the 1st July 2003.

As Secretary Craig is required to manage brigade administration, finance and personnel details as well as liaise with Region 6 headquarters on administrative matters.

1st Lieutenant - Leigh Parker
(Risk Management/Pre Incident Response Plans)
Leigh was awarded the Brigade's Fire of the Year award in 2001 and has had various roles with the Brigade and Camperdown Group including Secretary and VRFBA Region 6 secretary. Apart from the 1st Lieutenants position, current roles also include 3rd DGO and Group Secretary to Camperdown Group, Chair of the Region 6 RPC Operations sub-committee, deputy delegate to the Corangamite Shire MFPC.


As 1st Lieutenant, Leigh's role within the Brigade is to identify fire risks and develop appropriate pre-incident plans, brigade standing orders, fire prevention plan and fire plug inspections.

2nd Lieutenant - Mark Cole
(Training)
Mark joined the brigade in his early teens as a junior in 1974 and has progressively worked his way through the ranks. He held the position of Captain from July 1991 to June 1993 when he resigned due to work commitments. He currently holds the position of 2nd Lieutenant and is responsible for brigade training.

3rd Lieutenant - Peter Blain
(Apparatus & Equipment)
Peter joined the Brigade in 1977 and was recently awarded his 25 year service badge this year. Peter's experience also includes Ash Wednesday major fires in NSW and NE Victoria. Peter made himself available and was deployed to NE Victoria on numerous occasions last fire danger period.

He is responsible for the maintenance and checking of all brigade apparatus, equipment and buildings.

4th Lieutenant - Wes Primrose
(Recruitment/Youthcrew Liaison)
Wes is our youngest brigade officer and keen learner. Wes is presently the Brigade delegate to the Camperdown Group and Corangamite Shire MFPC.
Wes is responsible for Brigade recruitment and also provides liaison with the Terang College Youthcrew.

Communications Officer - Jeffry Carroll
Jeffry joined the Brigade in 1974 as a junior before leaving for employment in Melbourne. He returned to the Brigade in 1998 where he subsequently took a leading role in organising brigade social activities such as Brigade BBQ's, Christmas Parties and the like.

As the Comms Officer, Jeff is responsible for the testing and maintenance of all communications equipment, the development of contact lists as well as the development and publication of the brigade weekly test/cleaning roster.

There are also 20 other volunteer members - the front line troops - who make up the Terang Urban Fire Brigade’s fire fighting team.

 

We are on the lookout for new members to join. Apart from firefighters, many people in our community can offer a wide variety of skills and interests and therefore, you may be able to offer your time as a firefighter or non-operational member.

What's the time commitment?
You can choose how much time you have available to dedicate to the CFA. It's up to you and your family. We have Brigade meetings on the second Sunday morning of each month and training sessions every Sunday.

Training
We provide full training to all new recruits who want to take on a firefighting role. The training is aligned with national competency standards and much of it can be used in your personal and work life. It includes:
-Pump Operation
-Basic Fireground Practices
-Fire Saftey Awareness
-Fire Equipment Maintenance
