The old hilux ute crashed over yet another cattle grid on the red
dirt road to Lawn Hill Gorge. The aircon in the old truck had long
given up the ghost, and the open windows let in a stove hot breeze
fired by the tropical sun. Still, the passengers were happy, and why
not. They were heading for a 500 Km round trip drive for a swim
after that morning soaring on the Morning Glory wave cloud.
Donny Gardner became the 6th person ever to do so in a free flying
hang glider after being towed up behind my trike, and Al Giles and I
both notched up another soaring flight in trikes.
I now hold the record distance for a trike soared on the wave. At
the moment it stands at 64 Km, but I hope to bump that up quite a
bit. I suspect this could be a record distance for engine off
soaring in a heavy two seater (XTC582). Unfortunately, my would be
passenger sauntered off while I was towing, and missed his chance at
glory (pun intented)
Internet conection here is not great, but I have managed to upload a
short clip at;

for those who would like to attend.
I would apprecite it if you can be there. To keep you updated on the venues,
times, and make sure there is adequate seating, please reply to this message
and I will add your email address to the mailing list for updates.
The dates are as follows:
Perth Sat 30th July
Melbourne Sat 6 Aug
Auckland +- Tue 9th Aug
Sydney Sat 13 Aug
Adelaide +-15th Aug
Please pass this message on to as many people you feel may be interested, also
asking them to email me their details.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks
Ricky

This is why flying around in weather
may be quite frightening?
