There are several projects that Timorlink is looking to support and develop. Currently field officers are investigating further opportunities to assist the East Timorese at the grass roots level.

The first of these groups is Grohana which is a small group which embraces sustainability, education of the community and the involvement of the people of the environment they live in. Grohana's mission is "the natural preservation of the land within East Timor for the interest and protection of Humankind". The message of the importance of protection of the ecosystem and the fragile nature of the ecosystem is what Grohana brings to the rest of East Timor.
grohana group

grohana Grohana acknowledges the negative effect on the natural environment of the violence and destruction perpetrated by the Indonesian military during their occupation. It is seen as a motivator for the younger generation, who are the members of Grohana, to restore the natural environment and protect it for the future.

Radio Rakambia is a Community Radio Station run in Dili. They are in the process of building a small studio with a real door! Their aims are to educate, inform and involve the people of East Timor in the process of democracy. This means that they work hard to provide up to date accurate information in their News, Economics, Agriculture and other such broadcasts. The staff at Rakambia work hard to get feedback from their community so that their programs reflect real needs.

Timorlink has chosen to support Radio Rakambia because, as is the case with many dedicated Timorese community groups, there is no ongoing funding and equipment is hard to come by; in the radio industry equipment often needs updating and replacing. Timorlink are inspired by Rakambia's vision to empower their people through radio information and education.
