"The Ferntree Gully Arts Society has, over the last fifty years, built up a collection of some 100 works of art. Most of these works came by an annual acquisitive exhibition, but some were presented to the Society...and others donated” (from The Hut: A history of the FTGAS and the Hut Collection 1944-94 by Judith O'Donnell and Robert Diss)
The Collection is an integral part of the Society and some of the works are on display in public spaces around the City of Knox. Included in our collection are works by Kenneth Jack, Ray Crooke, Arnold Shore and Noel Counihan. We also have well known local artists such as John Dudley, George Eddy, John Frawley, Hiltrud Barfus, Maggie Reid, June Barnett and Bert Birtles to name but a few.
Anyone interested in the collection from an historical point of view, or for research, is welcome to contact the Society.
The pages that follow show some of the artworks from our collection. Some works are no longer available for viewing due to various reasons. Copyright of the work remains with the artist and reproduction in any form by web users is forbidden without written permission.
