What’s Our Stuff Like

The 5^th dementia feature a fresh, original and talented cast of six actors, steered by director Michael Broadstock, who devise all their own material by drawing on the idiosyncrasies of their own lives.

Their philosophy is a simple one. ‘We’re here to give the audience a great night out,’ says Michael. ‘We’re not here to have a go at people, or point the finger. We celebrate people — we send up, but we don’t put down.’

The 5^th dementia are not simply deliverers of devastatingly funny lines. ‘We’re committed to creating believable characters, telling a story, and above all, engaging our audience, drawing them in so they care about the characters we’ve created up there on the stage,’ continues Michael. ‘There’s an element of escapism in our work too. We avoid the mundane. We aim to transport our audience to another place, another “dementia”, even.’
