Puffing Billy Restaurant tea
organised by Terry Roche. Puffing Billy Railway operates a Dinner
Special every Friday and Saturday Night, which includes a train trip
from Belgrave to Emerald, savories and pre dinner drinks on board,
dinner in Emerald at a restored packing shed, then the trip back to
Belgrave with cheese and greens. The all up cost for the dinner and the snacks on board the train is $81.00 per head, with dinner drinks extra. I have checked the availability for Saturday 20 September 2008 and bookings are available for this date. This gives those interested enough time to put money aside or sell a few surplus parts to cover the cost . The Puffing Billy website provides details of the dinner special, and the link is http://www.puffingbilly.com.au/info/specials/dinner.htm We need a minimum of 8. They can hold 90. If you are interested, please contact me on 0404 391 511 or email me at cockroches@ozemail.com.au If we have enough interest, Terry will need a non refundable deposit of $25 per head one month prior at the latest.

Skoda Heaven - If you missed it
last year this maybe your last opportunity to see what is hidden in
sheds on farms. This is the place where all Skodas go to die. Barrie and
Lois Chamberlain have invited us for a return visit to their property in
Colac. Lois is going to do her usual soup and home made sausage
rolls, but this will be a lunch time event. BBQ will be supplied so it
is a BYO meat, chairs etc. Meeting place will be the Waurn Ponds Hotel in the Service lane on the Colac side of Geelong at 0945 am for a 10.00 departure. If you get to Bunnings you have gone too far. Look for Service road opposite McDonalds. We will all arrive at the Colac Tourist Information Centre and drive to Barrie and Lois’s place in convoy. Departure time from the Colac Tourist Information Centre is 11:15 am. This will be a joint venture with the Western Chapter of the Jaguar Car Club with a special invite to the Rover Car Club. Exact dates in the July Trumpet. A day not to be missed. The biggest complaint last time was that we didn’t spend enough time there. |
