On the weekend of 27th & 28th May 2006, Tatong celebrated the Centenary of the
Recreation Reserve.
On Saturday, Centenary cups were presented to the winners of
A B & C Grade Netball and the Reserves and Seniors Football. Goorambat were the
winners of all 5 cups. |

On Sunday the memorabilia display attracted much reminiscing.
Old fashioned games were popular with the younger members of the community. A BBQ lunch was served by the Young Bloods before the Commemorative Plaque was officially unveiled by Dr Bill Sykes MP, and a time capsule was buried by Councillor Bill Hill. |
Mrs Betty McCauley, a granddaughter of one of the first trustees of the Reserve, planted a tree - |

- and Miss Nita McCauley, a local identity, cut the centenary cake. |
Winners of the raffle were: Mrs Mavis McCauley - Dinner Set Dr Bill Sykes - Baking Dish Rosemary Williams - Gift Voucher from Millers Benalla. The committee would like to thank Stolz and Millers for donating the raffle items and Elders for their sponsorship |
