Radnell Home from the CFA Bell Tower, 1931

Radnell Home from the CFA Bell Tower, 1931

This photo was taken from the top of the CFA bell tower looking west across Commercial Road to the old Radnell home. The top of the Mechanics' Institute can be seen in the foreground, and the bunting for the 1931 Back to Tarnagulla has been slung from the heavily-pruned gum tree. The group of people at Radnell's front gate are very well dressed, and they appear to have a 'welcome home' sign for the visitors to the town. Similar bunting can be seen in other photos of the 1931 event on this website.

The back yard of The Exchange is in evidence, as is Wayman Street and the back lane.
