Looking South From Poverty Street, c.1925

The time-frame of this photograph is interesting.
On the left is the corrugated iron fence erected around the burnt-out ruin of Willersdorf's old bakery and store.
On the right, and to the right of the Golden Age Hotel, can be seen Renshaw's London House, not long before it was demolished. Following demolition, this is the site on which JB Reid erected a huge advertising hording in 1929 which, in turn, was destroyed during a windstorm in 1939.
