Growler's Hill, Looking West, 2015.

The shaft in the foreground was re-opened in the 1980s, and is connected with the nearby main Hatt shaft. The dam to the rear was constructed by the Tarnagulla Consols Company in 1897/98, and was used to capture mine water for use in the company's stamp battery.

The mullock dump to the right was also created by the Tarnagulla Consols Company in sinking the Hatt shaft.

This particular locality was once a spectacular hive of mining machinery, and in some respects was a showpiece of the Tarnagulla district.
