Laanecoorie Bridge Hotel

Laanecoorie Bridge Hotel

Built for Thomas Griswold who was granted a licence on 29 June 1872. He applied for the licence as workers from his carriage works were going to the hotel at Tarnagulla and often would not come back or were unfit for work.
He was tragically killed on 7 July 1885 by being kicked to death in the stables of his hotel by a horse he was about to drive to Maldon.
The licence was later held by Miss Fanny Griswold who ran the Hotel until approximately 1910.

Scanned and enhanced by David Gordon.
Jenny Cain Collection.
