This gallery is designed to present historical photos of the people and places of Tarnagulla in a straightforward and logical manner - while allowing you to have some interaction with the photos in the gallery.

The gallery has a fast search system and the ability to add comments to photos where you have further information about an image that you'd like to share. Registered users are also able to upload new photos into existing galleries to enable easier sharing. Registered users can also receive email notification when new photos or comments are added. Below are a few guidelines for uploading photos if you do intend to take advantage of this...

1. Your photos should be in jpeg format.
2. Please ensure your photo is under ~150k in size. While Vicnet have been very generous in providing the web hosting for free, we don't have an unlimited amount of space and we need to be mindful of this.
   
3. I suggest that you resize your images to approximately 800 pixels on the longest side. This should be large enough to show a good level of detail at full size - but still download in reasonable time. If you need software to do this I suggest the free tool Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/). This is a powerful tool for image manipulation.
   
4. The Gallery software will automatically create a thumbnail (small image) and intermediate image for your uploaded photos.
5. Use a simple but meaningful caption that is not too long. Additional information can be included in the 'Description' field which is visible when you view the photo. Try to include as much detail as possible in this 'Description' field.
   
6. Have fun! Remember that every photo you upload adds to this great resource for interested people around the world!
   
7. All photos, descriptions & comments added are moderated, and offensive or inappropriate material will be deleted by the administrator. User accounts may be terminated at the discretion of the administrator.
