SYKES – NATIONAL YOUTH WEEK GRANTS

Bill Sykes, the Nationals Member for Benalla, advises that the 2007 National Youth Week 2007 Grants are now open for applications.

Dr Sykes said, “National Youth Week which runs from the 14 - 22 April 2007, is an annual week long event to celebrate and recognise the contribution of young people in Australia.

“I encourage young people in the Benalla Electorate, in partnership with local Councils, community groups or their schools to apply for grants of up to $2,000 to stage events or activities during Youth Week.

“The Benalla Electorate has been successful in obtaining grants through this program in the past:- • Get Out There Awards – Benalla • Video, Slide and Photography workshops – Rural City of Wangaratta • Musical Performances – Myrtleford • Theatre, storytelling and publishing workshops – Shire of Strathbogie • Skate Boarding competition – Bright”
