Sykes alerts sporting clubs to travel expense funding program for 2006

Nationals Member for Benalla, Bill Sykes, encourages all sporting clubs and organisations throughout the Benalla Electorate to apply for funding through the Vic Talent funding program that is currently on offer.

Vic Talent provides a $500 travel assistance grant to community sport and recreation organisations in rural and regional Victoria.

Dr Sykes said the Vic Talent Program aims to increase the capacity of sport and active recreation organisations in regional and rural Victoria to assist athletes, coaches, officials and teams with the travel costs of engaging in training and competition.

Funding applications for travel to be undertaken after 1 January 2006 and before 31 December 2006 close on Friday 14 October 2005. Applications can be lodged on-line, via email or post with the Department of Victorian Communities
