Griffin AwardThe Griffin Award is an annual $10,000 prize offered by Griffin Theatre Company for an outstanding new Australian play. In addition to the main award, all shortlisted playwrights receive $1000 each. The Stringybark Young Adult Fiction Award Do you have what it takes to write a story that will engage a member of the iPad generation? Entries need to have a link to the theme "Australia" and be less than 1500 words. There is a total of $770 worth of prizes in cash and books available plus publication for place-getters and highly commended authors. YA

AVALON CITY BEDTIME STORY COMPETITION A new guest accommodation in Tasmania, Avalon City Retreat, is seeking a story to use in a creative way to connect with its guests. The winning story will be used by Avalon City Retreat as a template, with guest names and details inserted to personalise the story as a welcome gift. In partnership with Island Magazine, the competition will award $1000 and a night's accommodation at Avalon City Retreat. Entries need to be between 1500 and 200 words. Competition
