Lyndall Hadow Donald Stuart Short Story Competition 2012

Open Theme Competition run by the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA. This is an annual competition named after two well-known West Australian short story writers. Short stories accepted up to 3000 words. For more info go to: .http://fawwa.org.au/?p=458

The Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award 

One of Australia’s most exciting awards for unpublished writing is now open for entries. The Australian/Vogel Literary Award offers a writer under the age of 35 a chance to see their novel published by Allen & Unwin, and share in a prize pool of $20,000. The award is open to unpublished manuscripts of between 30,000 and 100,000 words. Details and entry can be found here.

The Text Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing 

An annual prize awarded to an outstanding unpublished manuscript. It aims to discover more wonderful new books for young readers, by Australian and New Zealand writers. Both published and unpublished writers of all ages are eligible to enter with works of fiction or non-fiction. More details here.

2012 Shoalhaven Literary Award: Poetry 
The Shoalhaven branch of the Federation of Australian Writers has launched the 2012 Shoalhaven Literary Award: Poetry. This year’s judge of the prestigious award is Australian poet Judith Beveridge, poetry editor of Meanjin and currently teaching postgraduate poetry at Sydney University. First prize is $1000 combined with a two-week residency at Arthur Boyd’s Bundanon artist complex on the Shoalhaven River, with a second prize of $300, third $100 and a $200 encourage award for a resident of the Shoalhaven city. The Stringybark Seven Deadly Sins Short Fiction Award 2012

SWWQ ANNUAL POETRY COMPETITION
Poem to 40 lines,
Haiku - submit up to 3 haiku on a single page
First prize in both categories $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50
Submissions must be typed and sinmgle sided on A4 paper, 12 point, 1.5 spacing. Limit of one entry in each section. 
No entry form necessary. Attach a title page detailing title of work, name and contact details. Judge: Ynex Sanz

 FAWNS Vibrant Verse Poetry Competition 2012

Elyne Mitchell Rural Women’s Writing Award 

The Elyne Mitchell Rural Women’s Writing Award commemorates internationally renowned Silver Brumby author Elyne’s life and work, and hopes to encourage women all over Australia to write their stories and send them in. All entries must have a specific reference to an Australian rural experience. Entries may be fiction or non-fiction. The theme for 2012 is ‘Leaping Into The Future’.

Doneraile Literary & Arts Festival 2012: Poetry & Short Story Competitions

CJ Dennis Literary Awards 2012

The theme for 2012 is "Our Farmers, Our Future", commemorating the Australian Year of the Farmer. Short story and poetry categories, including open unthemed sections for both.
