The
National Trust of Australia (Victoria) and the City of Port Phillip are
launching a short story writing competition
about the Portable Iron Houses, South Melbourne.
The competition is to write a story that includes the Iron Houses: an
imagination of who lived there,
their use as backdrop to another story, their relocation.
Poems and prose, fiction and non-fiction will be accepted.
A research day and creative writing class will be held at the Iron Houses on
Saturday 9 March.

Charlotte Duncan Award is open for entries of short stories suitable for young
readers aged nine to twelve years.

annual award is a fundraiser by Celapene Press for the neo-natal unit at
Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital.
