PRESIDENT’S REPORT

This year has been extra exciting with the inclusion of Spotlight Speakers within our members, when we have learnt more about each other.

To Lynne Murphy I thank you for taking the Minutes. Without a Minute Taker we couldn’t func-tion. Thank you, Lynne for your time and effort.

I wish to thank Veronica Schwarz, our Webweaver. We have had several new members through this medium and realize how important it is. You are always cheerful when you are asked to add something to the website and we are most fortunate to have your expertise. Thankyou, Veronica.

Even though Judy Bartosy has not felt too well this year, she has soldiered on as Membership Secretary and kept us up to date with old and new members. Thank you for all the effort you have put into the Society.

Lauren Thompson needs a decoration as Newsletter Editor as well as studying her University De-gree. Thank you, Lauren for your wonderful contribution. Putting a Newsletter together is not easy, so your effort is greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Lauren.

To Judith Green, Postal Workshop Co-ordinator and Editor of Carpe Diem, I thank you for your tireless work in running the Postal Workshops and editing. I am sure everyone has benefited from your help.

To Paula Wilson, Editor of Spring and Patricia O’Keefe, Editor of Ariadne’s Thread, I thank you for your dedication and hard work.

To Rebecca Maxwell, Judy Bartosy, Veronica Schwarz, Beth Wunderlich, Alice Landau, Paula Wilson, Yvonne Sweeney, Linda Blackshaw and Nina McPherson, thank you for all your input into the Committee, be it by email or at a meeting. It has been reassuring to know I have your support.

COMPETITIONS Thank you to everyone who entered the competitions this year. Owing to our financial situation, we have been able to increase Prize money and Judges’ fees.

ATTENDANCE AT MEETINGS During the colder months, numbers were down, but the quali-ty of our excellent speakers made our meetings lively, friendly and stimulating.

Overall, I sometimes found being President challenging as this year has been a new journey for me. I look forward to next year.
