At Sunnyside Kindergarten’s 3 year old group, we believe in providing children with a natural setting, which invites them to be curious, imaginative and creative learners; where they can express their individuality and feel a sense of belonging, and be supported by their peers, teachers, family and community.

I am influenced by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia and Howard Gardner’s 9 Areas of Intelligence.  These philosophies are reflected through our program, which is play-based valuing sustainability, resilience, empathy, respect for oneself, their peers and the environment.

In today’s day and age we believe children need sustainability, listening skills, practice in problem solving and opportunities for collaborative learning.  We see children as unique individuals who bring their own style and personality to the program.  When children feel valued they are more likely to enjoy learning, feel competent and be a stronger person, able to deal with the challenges life offers.
