Parent participation is encouraged.  We believe that the role of the family is integral to the development, planning and education of children.  Parents are rostered on to do snack duty for a period of time during the week.

The kindergarten is a non-profit organisation that is run by The Committee of Management.  This Committee and the Director administers and manages the kindergarten. It is made up of the Director and elected parents whose positions become vacant each year at the AGM.  The Committee meets monthly during the year.

Communication between the committee and parents is by the way of a monthly electronic newsletter, children’s individual correspondence pockets and/or a noticeboard which is located in the front entrance area.

To cover its operating costs, Sunnyside relies on term fees, fundraising (for which their is a fundraising sub-committee) and Government funding.

There is NO Government funding for three year old kindergarten.

Fees for three year old and four year old groups are set by Sunnyside Kindergarten Committee of Management and are reviewed regularly.
