These are a few of my Cook 45 Riser. The basic design is from 1915 - yes, 90 years ago! How does it actually fly? It climbs on 2 engines, maintains height on 1 engine and glides like a brick. The mighty roar of the 2 Cox .049 engines (bought in 1960 by me) has to be heard to be believed - takes you back to pulse jet days! The aeroplane is very difficult to get it off the ground as you can't steer it until the rudders become effective. Sometimes this is just after the thing has chased you round the paddock. Fuel is 45% nitro, 45% methanol and 10% Coolpower - the Cox engines were notoriously overcooled.
