Recovery and Rehabilitation
Usually
rehabilitation is almost always necessary - this is not only the responsibility
of the therapists but also the person suffering the stroke and carers.
Therapists
cannot support the person with a stroke for ever, but they can give the confidence and guidance to continue the efforts for further recovery.
Rehabilitation in
early stages is usually in the areas of :- Physiotherapy, Occupational
Therapy and Speech Therapy.
The person who
has had the stroke also needs a great deal of emotional and
physical from family and friends.
You should always remember
that in relation to all of your limbs, if you don't use them, you will loose
them. It is vitally important that you maintain a regular program for
your own private physiotherapy (exercising).

What really matters, is what you can do
- not what you cannot do.
