   Recovery

     Recovery and Rehabilitation

  • Usually rehabilitation is almost always necessary - this is not only the responsibility of the therapists but also the person suffering the stroke and carers.

  • Therapists cannot support the person with a stroke for ever, but they can give the confidence and guidance to continue the efforts for further recovery.

  • Rehabilitation in early stages is usually in the areas of :-
Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.

  • The person who has had the stroke also needs a great deal of emotional and physical from family and friends.

  • You should always remember that in relation to all of your limbs, if you don't use them, you will loose them. It is vitally important that you maintain a regular program for your own private physiotherapy (exercising).

What really matters, is what you can do -
                          not what you cannot do.
