The broad range in ages of the choristers is one of the choir’s great strengths and it is exciting to see our children growing up in the choir. Most of our teenage members started in the choir aged around 8 or 9 years of age.
The choir provides the opportunity for friendship
and fellowship amongst
those who love to sing. Past experience is not a pre-requisite as
education is an important part of the ministry of music. To this
end we engage a choral consultant from time to time who works with
individual voices and with the choir as an ensemble.
If you are interested in lifting your spirits through singing or extending the musical education of your children, contact our Director of Music, Mr. David Byrne. or on 9836 5456.
You will be warmly welcomed.
The organ is a 2-manual pipe organ with electric action and 21 speaking stops.
Built in 1915 by George Fincham and Sons, it was enlarged in 1940 and 1942 and rebuilt in 1965 by Hill, Norman and Beard, with the then organist Ian Tyler as consultant
