Missions

During 2012 our parish aims to raise $500.00 each for the three ABM Projects below.

For more information about St Paul's mission activities contact Ian Smith.

Our projects in Myanmar (Burma)

The Church in Myanmar is presented with many challenges. You can help. Support for these projects can provide farmers Myanmar (Burma) with rice winnowing (threshing) machines; giving small capital to start duck-raising and small fish ponds to raise extra income; engine-repair training for villagers whose main economic activity is river-based and simple water and sanitation systems to ease the burden of fetching water from miles away.

ABM is funding the following projects in Myanmar:
Water and Sanitation
– Youth Skills Training
– Institutional Strengthening including Teacher Training
– Food Security
– English Language Tuition

St Paul’s has chosen to donate for water and sanitation.

To support this ABM project at St Paul's, Bendigo, place your donation in the offertory plate in an envelope marked "Myanmar."

Donations to the above projects are tax deductible.

Sudan Emergency Assistance Fund

This project provides emergency assistance to people affected by civilian and military violence in disputed parts of Sudan, near the border with South Sudan.

Assistance in the Diocese of Malakal will provide food and hygiene items to 200 displaced women and 150 displaced children and the need for food, plastic sheeting and blankets to 250 displaced Nuban households in Southern Kordofan is desperate.

To support this ABM project at St Paul's, Bendigo, place your donation in the offertory plate in an envelope marked "Sudan."

Donate directly to this project through ABM (select South Sudan: Sudan Emergency Assistance Fund).

Donations to this program are tax deductible.

St Margaret's Hospital, PNG

Many patients in and around Oro Bay die from preventable or curable conditions. The most common ones presented at St Margaret’s Health Centre are neonatal sepsis (a blood infection in newborns caused by bacteria), malaria, tuberculosis, pneumonia, broken limbs and machete injuries.

There is still a lot of work needed to improve St Margaret’s existing buildings and medical facilities. The aim is to upgrade the Centre from a rural health clinic into a fully functioning hospital. Proper medical equipment will enable staff to provide more than just basic medical care.

To support this ABM project at St Paul's, Bendigo, place your donation in the offertory plate in an envelope marked "St.M's, PNG."

Donate directly to this project through ABM (select St Margaret's Hospital in PNG Program).

Donations to this program are tax deductible.
