Melba toast

Serves:  4 people
Prep time: minutes

Ingredients:

1 loaf bread, white

Method:

  • Trim away all the crusts from the bread. Cut the loaf in half diagonally from one end to the other to give two triangular pieces.Using a sharp knife or an electric knife cut thin slices to form thin triangles. Lay pices on an ungreased oven tray and bake in a moderate oven for about 20 minutes until bread is golden brown, curled and crisp. The bread must be completely dried out.
  • Cool and store in an airtight container.
  • Serve with pates or dips.
