St Johns runs a regular series of cantata services. The cantatas are presented in the context for which the music was originally written - a liturgical Lutheran worship service.
For program details visit Bach Cantatas

The Sunday School caters for children from ages 5 to 13.  The three groups operate from 10.30 to 11.30am on Sunday mornings.   New children are always most welcome.

Regular bible studies are conducted at St Johns.  For more details of current and proposed programs, please contact Pastor Ian Vainikka at St Johns.

youth
The enthusiastic members of the Youth group run an interesting variety of activities. The group is open to youth aged between 13 and 21.  They meet for Bible study or activities every Sunday at 10.30 am and usually on the 3rd Thursday of each month, 6-7.15pm for 'Pizza with the Pastor', a Bible-based discussion on current events and issues.   All are welcome.

m.c.c.i.a.
St Johns is an active member of Melbourne City Churches in Action.  It is an ecumenical organization of clergy and lay people representing 15 City of Melbourne churches.  It works to develop understanding, communication and cooperation between the churches.  MCCIA Meetings are held on the second Wednesday bi-monthly in February, April, June, August, October and December.  Check website for details.

meeting and greeting
Meeters and Greeters are a group of volunteers who welcome visitors to St Johns during the week and on weekends.  Their role is to project St Johns as a caring, welcoming place of God in the City.  It may involve being a tour guide, telling visitors about St Johns and answering their questions.  At times it provides opportunities to listen to, support and pray with those with problems.

concerts
St Johns, with its location near the Arts precinct and its excellent facilities, provides a superb venue for concerts and other performances.  Hosting concerts provides both the opportunity to  contribute to the cultural life of our City and to welcome people into our church.

library
St Johns has a comprehensive library of books tapes and etc which are available for borrowing.  The library is located in the function room during and around service times.  Members and visitors are welcome to borrow.  Please enter details of borrowings in the book provided.

friends together
This is a group for men and women, singles or couples who meet together for fellowship in a Christian context usually the 1st  Wednesday of each month at 12 noon.  They participate in an interesting variety of activities.  Everyone is most welcome.  More about Friends Together
