BACH CANTATAS AT ST JOHNS
St Johns runs a regular series of cantata services. The cantatas are
presented in the context for which the music was originally written - a
liturgical Lutheran worship service.

The Sunday School caters for children from ages 5 to 13.
The three groups
operate from 10.30 to 11.30am on Sunday mornings.
New children are
always most welcome.
bible studies
Regular bible studies are conducted at St Johns.

youth
The enthusiastic members of the Youth group run an interesting variety of
activities. The group is open to youth aged between 13 and 21.
They meet
for Bible study or activities every Sunday at 10.30 am and
usually on the
3rd Thursday of each
month, 6-7.15pm for 'Pizza with the
Pastor', a Bible-based discussion
on current events and issues. All are welcome.
m.c.c.i.a.
St Johns is an active member of Melbourne
City Churches in Action. It is an ecumenical organization of
clergy and lay people representing 15 City of Melbourne churches.
It works
to develop understanding, communication and cooperation between the
churches. MCCIA Meetings are held on the second Wednesday bi-monthly in February, April,
June, August, October and December. Check website for details.
meeting and greeting
Meeters and Greeters are a group of volunteers who welcome visitors to St
Johns during the week and on weekends.
Their role is to project St Johns
as a caring, welcoming place of God in the City.
It may involve being a
tour guide, telling visitors about St Johns and answering their questions.
At times it provides opportunities to listen to, support and pray with
those with problems.
concerts
St Johns, with its location near the Arts precinct and its excellent
facilities, provides a superb venue for concerts and other performances.
Hosting concerts provides both the opportunity to contribute to the
cultural life of
our City and to welcome people into our church.
library
St Johns has a comprehensive library of books tapes and etc which are
available for borrowing. The library is located in the function room
during and around service times. Members and visitors are welcome to
borrow. Please enter details of borrowings in the book provided.
friends together
This is a group for men and women, singles or couples who meet together
for fellowship in a Christian context usually the
1st Wednesday of each month at 12 noon.
They participate in an interesting
variety of activities. Everyone is most welcome.
