About St Columba's
Resources for Growth

Founded in 1924 as a Presbyterian church, St Columba's is situated in Banool Rd Balwyn at Number 37.

The first service held for the congregation that became St. Columba's was held April 27th. The drawing room of 20 Parring Rd., home of Mr. and Mrs Alex Cameron, was where a meeting of Balwyn Presbyterians began the formation of this congregation.

At the inauguration of the Uniting Church the congregation became part of the Balwyn Heights Parish, joining with Koonung Heights United Community Church and Benson St Methodist Church. Over time Benson St closed and the majority of the congregation joined St Columba's.

Today St Columba's is a small, caring community with a half time minister. We maintain our links with Koonung Heights Uniting Church although we no longer keep a common purse. The Social Justice Committee, the Monthly Mart, the Parish Bushwalkers and the Lenten Studies are just a few of our joint ventures.
