The Stawell Biarri Group for Genealogy Inc. maintains an extensive genealogy/family history library. Use of these resources is available:
- free to members
- for an hourly fee to non-members
Our group library includes transcriptions, indices or photocopies of many local registers - an ideal starting point for researching the histories of Stawell (Pleasant Creek and The Reefs) and district families.Having established the local genealogy we can then delve back into the past via other resources which we hold, i.e. all indices of Births, Deaths and Marriages for every Australian State which have been published on CD-ROM and many published microfiche for Australia and overseas. The list below details some of our library resources, which is growing all the time.
We meet at the Stawell Branch of the Wimmera Regional Library and have access it's collection of genealogy resources which supplement those owned by our group.
