The Parish House

General information

The parish house, at the corner of Montague and Dorcas Streets, South Melbourne, operates as an open house between 10am and 3 pm on weekdays. Do call in. We'd love to meet you. Also, if you'd like to help, Please call 9696 3730 or fax 9696 3730. There's always plenty of work that needs doing.

Emerald Hill Mission

The parish house is one service point for Emerald Hill Mission which has been established to provide a range of services to the needy of the area. There are friendly staff, including volunteer workers, to talk to visitors and offer food and other assistance. Where needed, we can offer advice on emergency accommodation and other social services. Currently assistance is given to some 140 people each week.

Central Deanery

The archdiocese of Melbourne has been organised into a series of deaneries to facilitate the sharing of resources in areas such as liturgy and social services. Sts Peter and Paul's, South Melbourne, is a member of the central deanery comprising also the parishes in Fitzroy, Collingwood, East Melbourne, Richmond, South Yarra, Port Melbourne and Middle Park, and West St Kilda.

South Port Interchurch Forum

Father Maguire is one of a group of local church ministers in the district who meet under the banner of SPIC (South Port Interchurch) to discuss issues concerning the well being of their communities in an ecumenical spirit.
