Two Spaniards are decorated in Melbourne.

La medalla

The Hogar Español of Melbourne, Australia, celebrated on the 27th. of July 1996, the festival of the Apostle St. James, the patron saint of Spain and of the Hogar Español. during the course of the celebration the Consul General of Spain, Mr. Arturo Reig, gave Mr. Antonio Ros, president of the Hogar Español and Mr. Bernard Burgos, president of pensioners association, "La Cruz de Caballero de la Orden del Merito Civil", roughly translated " The cross of the Gentelman of the Order of Civil Merit". granted by H.M. the King of Spain. The Occassion was very festive and emotive, as the two members of this community are well liked by all the people gathered in the main hall, who congratulated them and felt proud of the honour granted to their two members.
