An art space in the inner city. Three exhibition galleries for contemporary art, architecture and design and an audio visual room for multi media presentations, displays and seminars.
Proposals and bookings are invited from artists, curators, architects, designers, photographers and galleries who are interested in renting space for exhibitions, installations, performance or seminars. For information: Email: span@vicnet.net.au
Exhibition application to include: Completed application summary. Slides or photographs of works for the exhibition or of current work. A curriculum vitae. Brief description of the proposed exhibition and any relevant publicity material A stamped, self addressed envelope for return of visual material. Send to:
Arrangements & Conditions: SPAN Galleries provides overall management and promotion of the three galleries, regular advertisements in art journals and magazines, listing in Art Almanac and access to a mailing list. Advice and assistance is always available and arrangements can be made for any professional art services as well as seminars, special viewings, and follow up promotion and sales. Gallery hours Installation of exhibitions Monday 9am - 5pm No commission is charged in addition to rental with self staffed exhibitions. If exhibitions are to be managed with sales and promotion, then commission is to be negotiated before hand. If works are left on consignment after exhibitions, 40% commission is taken on sales. A deposit of one week rental will be required on acceptance of your submission as a booking confirmation. The full fee is payable one month before the exhibition opening date. The deposit is refundable on satisfactory dismantling of exhibition. The exhibitor is responsible for: The installation and dismantling of the exhibition. All costs such as insurance, freight, invitations, mailing, advertising and preview catering expenses. Any painting and patching which is necessary to maintain the original condition of the gallery - to be completed on Monday morning or the day after exhibition closure.
